Just read an article about Bob Dylan......

I came across this article in ABCnews.com........

Quote:

Security …
Dylan Refused Entry to Own Concert
The Associated Press

M E D F O R D, Ore., Oct. 15, — Bob Dylan wanted tighter security for his current tour, but he didn't expect to be held up at the door before his show in Central Point because he didn't have a backstage pass.

Dylan, traveling in support of his new album Love and Theft, was set to play the last Oregon stop on his tour last Tuesday night when he had trouble getting through a checkpoint at the Jackson County Exposition Center.
It wasn't clear whether any of the three security guards, all women in their 30s, did not recognize Dylan. "If it was George Strait, they probably would have recognized him," said venue manager Chris Borovansky.

But even if they knew who Dylan was, the guards had strict orders from Dylan's security director that no one — no one — was to get backstage without an official credential.

"He said no exceptions," Borovansky said. "Absolutely none."

Guards ‘Relocated’

So when a slight, wild-haired man tried to walk through the checkpoint, the guards stopped him. Dylan was surprised, and a brief scene ensued. One of the guards put her hands up and gently stopped Dylan. After his security director came over, incensed, both he and Dylan demanded that the women guards be thrown out.

Borovansky complied, although he said, "We prefer the term 'relocated.' " But he said he later told the guards they did "a great job."

Once the new guards were in place, Borovansky sought to clear up any more misunderstandings by showing them publicity photos of Dylan, who now sports a thin mustache. The security policy was the same: Nobody gets backstage without a pass.

"There's no exception," Borovansky said, "except for one."

Hmmmm, makes me imagine what the scene would be like if Bono had forgotten his all important pass....it would probably make him put up his fists to fight his way in or better still sing his way in! lol!

Question: Are the 4 guys issued with a pass just like everyone else to tighten up security during this leg of the tour in the light of Sept 11th?

this is what I call good security. Imagine some look-alike making his way to the stage and do some serious trouble. As far as I know was Bob quite satisfied with his security.

About our guys wearing passes. I´ve never seen them with passes. I saw Paul McGuinness with on during Popmart, so I guess they all have them.
