Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me who Bono is referring to at the start of "Streets" on the Slane DVD when he calls out "It's Paul... I sing this song for you"? I have tried to google up an answer, but no luck so far.

BTW this would have to be one of my favourite U2 moments. Really knocked me for six when I first heard it so I would love to know the story behind it.

Thanks :)

Maybe he's referring to his father..?

Oh, OK so is he saying Bob not Paul? That makes sense as it is so heartfelt.

I found a transcript of the DVD where they say Paul and that's what confused me.

It's so hard to tell on the DVD what he is saying but I'm going with the father thing now... thanks U2girl :)

Well, I meant "It's Paul...I sing this song for you".
You IMO is his father, also Bob was the only one who ever called him Paul.
