Apparently it was a promotional release. I was surprised too when I found it on u2wanderer.org. Such a great site! :up:
 
The version on the Fox TV special, where Bono isn't just singing "Is this Rock and Roll" but he is fucking yelling it.

That is god damn beautiful.

That's the kinda shit that made me fall in love with this band.
 
it might have been from Detroit, I am not positive but it was on the Fox special that aired in 1992.

I'm not sure if this is the version you're talking about, but on U2.com they have an amazing "is this rock and roll!!!" live version as the video for UTEOTW.

you could probably get it by request over on the Music on the Internet forum??

I have it on VHS, but don't have the technology to get it into digital format right now at any type of decent quality.

I don't know if that was a one time deal or the regular occurence on the first leg, but it was different than the version on Live from Sydney and different than a few boots I have heard otherwise.

Actually you might pose the question if you request it.
It's possible there is a stand alone version that isn't from the Fox special that has the same type of ending. Might not be as good, but I can verify that one in particular as being baddest ass.

Actually if you haven't seen that special, try and find that one.
It's awesome. Killer versions of about 5 songs, and some interesting edits in between. Someone has to have it somewhere?

On U2.com, under the audio-video section, the video for UTEOTW is the live outside zoo tv broadcast and it's one of those amazing versions. Unfortunately you can't see the actual song without signing in. :( Trust me I'm in no way trying to endorse u2.com, which for the most part sux, but maybe a member who knows how to capture video can grab it and post it as a ysi link. It seriously is awesome!

I love that video. I just wish that that stupid reporter would stop talking over the kick ass intro. Too bad they didn't released that video as a single, I think it would have been a hit. Whoever directed that should direct the next U2 DVD.

that dude is talking over the beginning of UTEOTW as well, so it's probably the same version? I guess.
