what exactly is Bono singing before Zoo Station (on the indoor legs).

"wha-hey, I could have lost you darlin', slip down through the cracks" x2

is this a cover song or something he made up?

I don't think anyone's ever really deciphered the lyrics to a degree everyone can agree upon. Doesn't seem to be a cover anyway.

What I had heard or read was that it was a take off on a dirge or prayer? Bono heard being called out through town (Possibly Muslim?? not sure) when they were on a photo shoot in Morocco for the Achtung Baby album. So he isnt really singing anything specific. He is sort of making it up on the spot. Like he does when they are writing new music.

How I hear it:

"Ohhhhhhh, I could erase you...
Ohhhhhhh, i (indecipherable) to burn,
To burn through glass, to burn through glass...Ohhhhhh"

it was creepy.. and i always loved it. wish he hadn't dropped it.

though i guess it doesn't really matter? i wasn't there anyway.

I love the versions where he did that. His voice was sounding so cool and so good. I wish they had pre-recorded that and added on the screen on the Vertigo version.

Here's what I hear:
I could had lost you
I could had let you go
Slipping through the cracks
Slipping through the cracks

Thanks for the mp3; that intro sounded awesome!!! What show was it from?

after listening to my bootleg from Stockholm 11 June 1992, i'm almost 100% sure this is the right one, although the version which was uploaded is edited a bit right before Edge kicks in with his guitar intro.

I agree

That Zoo Station is most definitely from 1992-06-11 Stockholm.

^ I think you're right. Most probably someone just mixed this intro with Sydney's Zoo Station.

i guess they've edited this version of Zoo Station, with the "I could have lost you" bit from Stockholm 92, and the Zoo Station song from Sydney 93.

thanks for the info...even though we are all still in the same place hahaha...

great bit though...It's VERY clear on the interference vhs from ZOO TV//

I wished that tape was an extra on the ZooTV DVD

but getting the show is great enough as it is.
