Im bored....so here it is...

Just bored at work at the moment, but listening to Achtung Baby...it's such a great album, as you all know! So as im bored I thought i'd list the AB tracks in my personal favourite order. 1 being the least...

1)TRYIN' to throw your ARMS around the WORLD (but id love em' to play it on the next tour!)

2)even BETTER than the REAL THING

3)ZOO station

4)who's gonna RIDE your WILD HORSES

5)MYSTERIOUS ways

6)until the END of the WORLD

7)SO cruel

8)ONE

9)LOVE is blindness

10)the FLY

11) ULTRA violet (light my WAY)

12)ACROBAT

(Yes im so bored I could even be bothered writing them the way they are on the back of the cd!)

Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World did come alive in the live setting. I think Ultraviolet is one great song. They should revive that for their next tour, or at least play it ocassionally.

Cheers,

J

This is funny. There is constant bitching about U2 not having enough "Hard Rock" songs, yet Acrobat is at the top of only one persons list.

From best to worst ...

1. Acrobat
2. The Fly
3. Love Is Blindness
4. Until The End Of The World
5. One
6. Mysterious Ways
7. Zoo Station
8. Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
9. Even Better Than The Real Thing
10. So Cruel
11. TIE: Ultra Violet (Light My Way) and Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World

In terms of single songs, AB is really quite an average album. Besides 1-3, the (studio versions of the) songs don't really leap out and grab me. They combine to create a really good album, but when ranking them, I realised it's no Unforgettable Fire or Joshua Tree.

Ian McCulloch the U2 fan:
"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."
