If You Could Only Listen To Five U2 Songs....

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
If I was stranded on a desert island with only 5 U2 songs on my iPod, they would be:

Where the Streets Have No Name
Miracle Drug
Walk On
The Fly
With or Without You / Strangers in the Night / Shine Like Stars

The Sixth Song if possible: Bad

*cough* five songs only *cough*

erm...my list changes weekly, but on Sept 16th 2005 at 22:18 GMT, it is currently as follows.

Zooropa
Lemon
Acrobat
Mofo (Live from MTV Europe Awards)
The Fly (Live from Boston 2001)

hmm...hasn't changed much

edit - I think I should be allowed two seperate 80's and 00's lists  I can never make my mind up...

This list is so fluid depending on mood. But right now...

Walk On - "America: Tribute to Heroes" video version - the best version I've ever heard of that song...very spiritual...

Sort of Homecoming - "Wide Awake if America" version...I travel a lot and always think about that song when I land home...

One Tree Hill - I think this may be U2's greatest song.

Crumbs... - Since this song has gone from one of my least favorites on HTDAAB to one of my favorites, I'd want to take something fresh...

Out of Control - may as well stay in close touch with the beginning.

So funny! People'll slip that extra no. 6 in there, or just flat-out refuse to do five at all!

Can't say I blame ya.

OK, I'll try and stick with 5 (this'll probably take me half an hour)

1. Walk On (It's U2 at their best. Why won't you play it on this tour? Hmmm? I've got all night gentlemen.)

2. A Sort of Homecoming (live from Wide Awake. This is transcendant, and the writing is so incredible. I still marvel over these lyrics)

3. Acrobat (love the hard rocking U2. Edge is outrageous here)

4. One Tree Hill ( the heart melter. a timeless tune)

5. Bad (live from Wide Awake)

Damn, I had to travel back in time a bit, back when I was 17. Funny how the music you hear when you're a teenager is the stuff that always has a permanent place in your heart. The Unforgettable Fire had just such an impact on me.)

Acrobat
Mofo
The Fly
Ultraviolet
Who´s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses

Ultraviolet
Stay
With Or without You
When I Look At the World
The Unforgettable Fire

I Will Follow
Where The Streets Have No Name
A Sort Of Homecoming (live)
The Unforgettable Fire
Into The Heart

5. Uh...ermm...umm....With or Without You with the "shine like stars" verse maybe? Or City of Blinding Lights. Or maybe One with the "hear me coming, Lord" at the end. IT'S TOO HARD TO DECIDE.

Nah, I'll go with WOWY with the extra verse for 5. It's close, though.

Edit: AH, I forgot about the Craig Armstrong version of Stay. That one'd be a pretty close runner-up, too. Best version of Stay ever? I think so.
