I can't help but expect ATYCLB...

The new u2 album will probably be compltely different to ATYCLB and wil be unlike any of u2's previous albums, like Bono has been saying, "there are some amazing things coming out of Edge's guitar,", which suggests its probably gonna be another new sound coming from u2's music.

However, i dunno if its just me, but i cant help but expect the new album to be similar to ATYCLB. There's just something about the rumoured song titles, and the vibe coming form the information we know about.

Whenever i think of American Prayer, for some reason I think of In a little while
Whenever I think of Full Metal Jacket/Native son, i think of a blend between Elevation and New York.
Xanax and wine however makes me think of Trying throw your arms round the world.....which ISNT atyclb.

It's a really strange feeling..... making me expect an album about 80% ATYCLB, 15% Achtung baby and 5% War.........

I dunno what to think though.....just really craving to hear the new material...

Xanax And Wine makes me think of a cross between Stuck and Ultra Violet for some reason.

Ian McCulloch the U2 fan:
"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

i love when people try to decide how a song's gonna sound based on nothing but the song title...

Yeah, I know what you mean Headache. Soft sounding titles sometimes end up being up tempo rockers. A song with a title of "Tough" might end up being a tender ballad. You just never know.

Alright, people this is U2 we are talking about. We can sit here and say " What If this and What If that.." But what everyone fails to realize is that U2 has NEVER EVER failed us in any way shape or form..NOT me at least..so just sit back..shut the hell up and make your assments when the album comes out and you can gor from there and here it for what it is..NOT what you think it might sound like...Please just do U2 and the optimists a favor and shut it!...as U2 would say.."Please". (Pop 97')

I agree with you DM...but weren't you spouting all kinds of march or early spring dates around? Lots of stuff about 90 days and such? Cracked me for saying Sept....looks like it will be later.

Have a heart man, if it is that horrible for you to read threads like this....don't read them. Otherwise...we will all wait till you give the band permission to release the album (and subsequently all of us to start speculating) and it will be all gravy.

Christ.
