HTDAAB Outtakes = Edge's CD?

Yeah, we all heard about the big news during the summer when Edge's CD got stolen "in the south of France ." I was just thinking, could these new outtakes on iTunes be the ones on the CD MIA? I mean, they fit the description: unfinished songs and the like. Maybe Bono was right about releasing these songs on the internet!

I know that this doesn't quite jive with what we were told when the song broke...but couldn't "Mercy" have something to do with that CD? Just seems that way to me, you know? I can't see where else--realistically, anyway--it coulda' come from. Regardless of what we were told...it fits. Either way, I'm not sure that the "new" songs we've gotten from iTunes had any direct relation to that CD; it could be, of course...I just don't think so. That late in the game, I don't think those tunes would've been prominent enough to get lugged around and shit. But, hey--what do I know??
