How Many Of You Really Like "vertigo" Album Title ?

Hi my friends I was wondering... how many of you like the New Album Title "Vertigo" ??

This possible album title came out from fans on u2star.com, they sent to Adam several possible names because the band didnīt know which title could be for the new album

Thereīre so much better ones around there, like:

"Men"
"Raw"
"Long Time Strumming"
"Revelations"
"Britain Quay"
"Beating Heart"
"Deep Silence"
"Interference" ( actually was a title posted by a fan !!!! )
"Sometimes You Canīt Make It On Your Own"
"Hearts & Minds"
"Strange Days"
"Missing Link"
"Dirty Prophecy"
"Timeless"
"Three Chords And The Truth"
"Rise"
"Remembering"
"About Time"
"Fade Away"
"How Long To Sing This Song"
"Wipe Your Tears Away"
"Like A Song I Have To Sing"

and loooong etc

Honestly, every title is better than "Vertigo", that title really is a crap also is not original at all. Thereīs a Chilean band Called La Ley who released years ago an album called... VERTIGO !!

My question is simple: if u2star.com could sent a letter to Adam, can interference.com send another letter with album titles ??

PLEASE LETīS SAVE NEW ALBUM TITLE !!!!

Vertigo has not been officially confirmed, please don't forget that. While domain names are convincing, it's still all just conjecture.

I think it's outstanding. It conjures up an attitude that, if present in the songs on the album, would be a return to form for these guys. I'd be very interested in to hear songs that conjure up vertigo more than, say, "all that you can't leave behind" which has aging dad-rock written all over it.

ponkine, with all due respect, that list sucks.
If that's the best the people on U2star could come up with, then let me just say that we have far far more creative minds on interference.

And for the record, the title Vertigo did NOT come from that crap list, it came from Dublin artist Damien Hirst. Check the news section of thie website or U2log.com

How many titles on that list are just derived from songs or albums that have ALREADY been released by U2?
'How Long to Sing this Song'?
'Like A Song I have to Sing'?

Actually Vertigo is better than every name on that list.

I like Vertigo, but my gut says it'll be called "Tough".

Donīt forget RATTLE AND HUM, UNDER A BLOOD RED SKY and WIDE AWAKE IN AMERICA Titles !!!
All those ones came from Song lyrics already released by the time that new album came out

I hate the title.

And I've not heard of a single one of those titles you've mentioned up there being rumoured. The only one was SYCMIOYO which is rumoured to be a song title.

Yeah... but all those cds were pretty much all Live Recordings that contained the songs that their lyrics were from. The only one that really had new material on it was Rattle and Hum. But if you are trying to make an entire new album, why would you name it after something you already did? That's not creative at all. How can any of those people attempt to come up with a list without ever hearing a new song? They can't even sum up the feeling of the album because they know nothing about it.

I don't really like it, but I just never get into the whole feeling of an album. I just like the songs. I couldn't care less about the title, the album art, the CD label, etc, etc.

EDIT: I went back a read the titles on the list and now I DO have an opinion: no offense, but those titles suck. They're just pieces of lyrics or cheesy cliche phrases.

Vertigo!

Vertigo is a record label too. I'm kinda indifferent to the name actually, but I think it would fit a tour/song better than a whole album.

I happen to like Vertigo very much - and can definitely imagine good marketing materials with that theme!

Vertigo definitely takes a back seat to such riviting titles as:

bug paste
fourteen miles of yarn
pickle in your pocket
megahertz (or alternatively) gigahertz
an asbestos itch
yearn to learn and earn love
spelling bees
strum-a-licious
spirit power hour
between bathroom breaks
this snatch of love

Eh, it's an alright title. At least it's not the mouthful that the Atomic Bomb one is. If it does turn out to be the title, hopefully the lyrics of the song will explain it better.

I'd be happy with vertigo, the title creates some interesting images.

It's definitely 1000 times better than any of the other crappy titles suggested in this thread, at least...

I don't know...I think Vertigo could work really well for a tour name. I don't mind Hanover Quay or Vertigo or Solar to be the title of the album, my idea is still Dragon.

If you look at the past, it's time for a theme/idea rather than something taken out of songs for an album title:

Boy
October - song
War
UF - song
JT
R&H - song
AB
Zooropa - song
POP
ATYCLB - song

I'd like Vertigo to be the title... But also "How to defuse an atomic bomb" sounds good to me, even if it's quite scaring.

because all u2's songs seem to be about love, the title will probably be chosen so if someone shortens it it will be LOVE
