The next issue of Hot Press, out on Thursday November 16, finds Ireland’s most fortnightly magazine celebrating the release of U2 18 Singles.
Due on November 20, this career-spanning collection features ‘Beautiful Day’, ‘I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For’, ‘Pride (In The Name Of Love)’, ‘With Or Without You’, ‘Vertigo’, ‘New Year’s Day’, ‘Mysterious Ways’, ‘Stuck In A Moment You Can’t Get Out Of’, ‘Where The Streets Have No Name’, ‘Sweetest Thing’, ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday’, ‘One’, ‘Desire’, ‘Walk On’, ‘Elevation’, ‘Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own’, ‘The Saints Are Coming’ and ‘Window In The Skies’.
A sterling selection – but given that U2 have released over 50 singles not a comprehensive one. To jolly along the debate about what should be on U2 18 but isn’t, here’s a list of all their other singles. We want you want to pick your favourite and, in 50 words or less, explain what makes it so special.
As well as printing 18 of the best eulogies, we’re giving away a copy of Hot Press’ ultra-rare The U2 File, signed by Bono, Larry, Adam and Edge, to the star entry. Closing date's November 10.
To enter and see the list of missing singles, click here.
It’s not compulsory, but if you’d like to send a jpeg of yourself at a U2 gig, wearing a U2 t-shirt, brandishing your favourite U2 cover or, indeed, doing anything U2-related, we’d love to see it. Or even just send us a pic of yourself at your attractive best! All will be exhibited in either Hot Press or on hotpress.com
Send your submissions to u2pics@hotpress.ie.
Got it? Go for it NOW! We’d love to hear from you
