HELP!! I need U2 in one paragraph!!

Hey you all! My friend has been elected orientation leader at her college for next year, and the theme for orientation is "Rock On." So, in the spirit of things, each girl on the committee has to pick a band and write a paragraph about them. (For what, I don't know.) Anyway, she chose U2 (I'm so proud!

) She asked me to write a paragraph about them for her, but I'm afraid even my best efforts won't do them justice.

So, here's your challenge should you choose to accept it: *hums Mission Imposibble theme* Write me a killer paragraph about U2. About ANYTHING that has to do with them - history, lyric info, band members. But only *ONE* paragraph!

Just a thought, but something you might want to mention...

I was thinking about this the other day. U2 has covered a large number of popular musical genres. For example:
Pop - to many to name
Rock - to many to name
Opera - Miss Sarajevo
Country - Wanderer, Slow Dancing
Big Band - Two Shots of Happy...
Traditional Irish - Tomorrow
Rap - Miami, Numb (this is a bit of a reach)
R & B - In a Little While
Dance - Discotheq
Arty Instrumental - Passangers

Just to name a few... You get the picture. You might even want to bring up how they do many of these on one album....
