American Idiot is a work of genius. All you people who dismiss it have a bias against Green Day's music or you're just so obsessed with U2 that everything else has to be inferior, in your minds.

I'm tending to agree with this. I think "American Idiot" is a great album. There's nothing wrong with liking BOTH bands.

I don't go on this board often...and I'm certainly on biased. As a matter of fact,U2 isn't even my favorite band. I just don't like American Idiot that much.

Ugh, Green Day is beating a dead horse. Albums are dead. This is the era of the song. Concept albums are like listening to an amateur hour of songwriting. AI hasn't changed that perspective.
