I can't belive the negativity that some people have. An incredible Irish band, is standing up in support of America, and delivering an incredible tribute and all that they can do is complain. U2 are Irish, they have had enough of their own terrorist activity, and political garbage to deal with in their lifetime. The fact that they have taken the time to openly embrace America, and the American people at a time like this shows what incredible men the four of them are.

Yes, I am angry. I hate when completely ignorant people take jabs at my boys!!!

Here I go and I don't know why
I spin so ceaselessly
Could it be he's taken over me????

I can't even bring myself to read such crap. What in the world about their performance could possibly be considered in poor taste?

U2 not the best america has to offer and there must be a hundred different bands better than them.

LOL

One more thing, I really don't think that Adam's shirt was Che Guevara.

I'm Cuban and I familiar enough with my history to recognize el Che. I really don't think Adam would be dumb enough to wear a Che Guevara t-shirt to the Superbowl in the U.S.

Think back to the earliest fans of U2. The original fans were either self-absorbed, socialism promoting, pseudo-intellectual lesbians or the hoplophobic, pencil necked, effeminate, pantywaists who inexplicably were trying to get a piece of the first group.
U2 performance in bad taste? Id say letting them into the country was in bad taste. The band is made up of communist sympathizers and promotes a peace at all costs mentality. Id rather plant my kids in front of a tv tuned to network television than let a talent less hack like Bono brainwash my children with his message.

Are these people fucking normal??

The real question is: How do these people wipe their own butts? (Seeing the curtain fall)

Surely, the mere sight of toilet paper rolling down from the roll is a traumatic experience!

Hey, just because some of those people are "right wing" doesn't mean that all right-wingers think that way. I object to your thread title "go read what the right wing has to say". There are many conservative U2 fans who really enjoyed the performance, such as myself. That small group of people in no way represents the right wing as a whole.

That was some interesting reading...

80's has a good point....there were some positive comments about U2 in some of those posts, and the rest are probably part of the "vocal minority."

Although, to put down U2, and pump up Mariah in the same post (after she lip-synced our national anthem) is just amazing!

Wake up people...

I agree that U2 shouldn't be allowed to enter the U.S.

Glad someone else found this as hilarious as I did. I'd like for this person to name those 100 bands they speak of. I'll be the first to admit that just about every excellent band to change the music world since the late '60s has either been British or Irish.

You mean that they should be forced to stay outside of the US and play some more shows elsewhere, instead of mainly the US as they have been doing lately? You're probably not alone!

Im conservative myself in many senses of the word, but this is the type of trash that gets conservative people a bad name and its not only on the U2 issue its on many different issues. All I am saying is that people should do their homework before posting such crap and as I said in my original posting that there was a few people sticking up for them. But I believe that at least 50 percent of the posts that i read contained some type of derogatory comment towards either the band or the fans that had nothing to do with the music and I think that is pathetic.

Ahhhh.....the reactionaries have come out in their disdain for anyone who doesn't speak with an American accent and agree with the U.S government 100% on anything and everything.

How sad.

Ok Brucie that was hilarious. Where did you come up with that site?
I really don't think Adam had on a Che Guevara shirt either. It looked more like a retro football player c. 1930. Another fan on rewired thought this also.
It shows you how misinformation and mistrust clouds ones judgement and ability to think straight. Come on Adam is so far from being a dork!

"All of us here thought the fans of U2 were shipped in from Bourbon street just for the show and then sent back. I'm just not into waving, screaming, adoring fans. It's one thing to like someone's music--quite another to look like you're worshipping the guy."

WOW! These people need to humble themselves and bow before almighty Bono!

BLASPHEMERS!!!

Allow me to squeeze in here with a post, to this ..

I did get a nice little laugh at the post title... THough I'm surprised it wasn't Gonz that wrote it up.. Maybe he was too busy with his head buried in Knanandndnan, It'll mos defly draw the readers, a tactic usually saved for the Free Your Mind Forum.. But I think everyone's scared of going in there at the moment.. Unless you are a former IRish Coach that is...

Again, I'll give my Bio.. I'm a conservative fan, and I liked the performance, I didn't find anything offensive, cuz it wasn't any sort of political performance, Yah.. Bono's views. depending on where you stand in the spectrum, and how far you 'quasically' shove your head up his ass, make you either give the thumbs up, or raise a big middle finger, And, sadly to say, that's what those kids in that post were replying to.. the Political views, not the music..
It's a sad thing that not everyone knows each breath on the album, can recite the lyrics to Miami in our sleep, and actually dress like MirrorBall Man on every occasion... But it's the reality

However, I thought it was an excellent performance, Great in spirit, Great in song, and Like someone mentioned in another thread.. The Red glow sticks were sweet..

I needed that like chuckle to wake me up this early in the morn..

Bono kept his potty talk under control too.

Yeah, God Bless America, Freedom to the People, Go Patriots and show us your tits!

This seriously blows my gord. Are you kidding me?

Bono is a confirmed liberal and he has used prior tragedies to
promote his own self-righteous indignation.

I am sick after reading some of the complete and utter shit these people think. I seriously cannot believe I just read that.

Then that whole bit about the names.....these clowns should only be lucky enough to go to a post 9-11 show and see all these names put to One. Or to have any clue at all about what U2 is all about.

Bono is lame.

Some people are REAALLLLLLLY pathetic..

why waste my time? they seem a little close-minded.

This absolutely cracked me up. I laughed really hard: Someone suggested that U2 should perform "Everybody Wants to Rule the World." And this person replied:

'I doubt U2 would have played "Everybody Wants to Rule the World." When you've produced as many albums as U2 has, there is no reason to cover a song by Tears for Fears.'

I really don't appreciate ad hominem comments of that nature.

Keep your spiteful non sequiturs somewhere else, prefferably in your head.

Any performance by these talent deficient pre-puberty nitwits is in poor taste.

Um, pre-puberty!? I got a real kick out of this site. It was a good laugh. On the other hand, it reminded me of the fact that the world will never experience true peace because of politics.

And now for something completely different...
Fortune cookie lyrics!
"Live your life filled with joy and wonder"
"Faith lies in the ways of sin"
"The future is no place to place your better days"

I read some of that earlier today, pretty darn funny!!
