This is an issue that should have been dealt with long ago.

There is no justification for writing Pop as "POP"!

Look at the cover of War. W-A-R. Look at the cover of October. O-C-T-O-B-E-R. But does anyone write War as "WAR"? No. Does anyone write October as "OCTOBER"? No. Does anyone write The Joshua Tree as "THE JOSHUA TREE"? No.

So why does everyone write Pop as "POP"??!!?!?!!

I want this to end, and I want it to end now!

It irritates me profoundly for a variety of reasons. Good reasons, in my opinion, but I'm not going to get into those now.

But it's usually so obvious which one they are referring to! And how often does anyone bother to refer to the genre as "Pop" rather than "pop" (unless it's at the start of a sentence!)

Actually, it was kind of evil of me to start this because it might very likely turn into another one of those, well, you know threads

I was just longing to do it, for some reason, because the habit started making no sense to me--the habit of writing it POP, that is.

Maybe I'll just start writing it OCTOBER and that will make me happy
