From the new hotpress article, Bono stated that they were working with Richard Rainey, whom I understand is a mixer/engineer who has worked with Brian Eno rather extensively and also has worked on ATYCLB and Pop. I might be wrong and anyone could end up producing the album but this might be a good sign, but I dont see Daniel Lanois working on it, considering he is doing a solo CD, but who knows? Anyone hear of any new info?

I don't think there has been any word yet on who will be producing the next project. I know that Lanois will be contributing to the next "best of"

I want another Eno/Lanois album--whatever they do together turns to gold.

that 'tis rather vexing.:eyebrow:

I was hoping the next one would be Lanois alone, actually. I thought the ATYCLB production was excessive (which shocked me since UF and JT had perfect production) given that the material suited much warmer and simpler settings, and Lanois is the master of making something complex sound at once elegantly simple.

Well, someone said Lanois is busy working on his new music and won't be producing for others, so...

But Rainey is the sound engineer, right - not like he's producing the album.

We'll see... maybe it's Lillywhite and Eno working together?
