"Elevation" Rumor?

OK, someone help me...
When ATYCLB was released,(I wasn't paying much attention to anything-so I don't know where I heard this) was it a rumor or the truth that Larry played bass on "Elevation"?
I know I heard this rumor somewhere, did anyone else hear it, or did I dream it?

It was true at the time the rumour was circulating but obviously the version on the album has Larry firmly on the drums. Apparently, Elevation started life as a rap song (Hmmmmm) before becoming what it is now. They don't tend to swap instruments, i think the only time one band member has ever played another's instrument was on 40 where Edge plays bass as well because Adam wasn't in the studio the day they recorded the song.
