Thanks to the folks at U2Spain.es for telling us about the "Original Of
The Species (Killahurtz Casa de Angeles Remix)", which immediately
becomes my choice for Best! Remix! Ever!

This new version of OOTS has never seen the light of day before, and
features a new lyrical outro. U2spain.es says that it's an official,
band-authorized remix. You can read more (en Espanol) at U2Spain.es,
where you'll also find a link to download the song and/or to watch the
video on YouTube.

I'd be fascinated to learn why this remix emerged now. I assume from the "Killahurtz" bit that it's part of Mick Park's HTDAAB remixes.

Anyway, I love how the early atmosphere of this song is almost mournful, it's a really unique take on the song. There are a few slightly generic/cliche "remix" touches but overall it's interesting to listen to, which makes it a really good remix.

so so much better, especially the intro. not keen on the cross fading etc. but it's a big improvement.

it has the atmosphere that eno/lanois can put back into U2. All the nice swathes of noise and more rhythm...

Fantastic. It's so much...warmer, and just feels more complex. Great take on it....I may just have to make a version of HTDAAB with this mix instead of the original...

The new belting part is HUGE.
