In similar news, opposition leader Stephen Harper denounced the invitation. He believes a U2 performance in Ottawa will substantially increase the likeliness of polygamy becoming a national crisis.

NDP leader Jack Layton had no comment. In fact, he wasn’t available at press time. Rumour is he was out planting trees.

Finally, Bloc leader Gille Duceppe wants half of any potential U2 performance in Ottawa.
