Here's a quote from Larry re being inducted into the Rock Hall:

**********************
Drummer Larry Mullen Jr., 43, says the honor would be more appropriate in, say, 2030.

"We've got another 25 years," he says. "They need to change the rules. We're still creative and still out there competing on every level. It would be great to get this when we're 75 and we can bring the grandkids along."
***********************

I thought Larry was looking really pissed off about a month ago then I realised that he would have been pissed off - playing fake drums on top of the pops. He hates artifice. Now on SNL the other night he was playing like a demon and his heart was definitely in it. Larry ain't goign anywhere right now!

While being a very enjoyable museum to visit (the U2 exhibit there was magnificent. I flew from Tampa to Cleveland to see it), the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is overrated, cliquish and entirely opinion based. Of course it is, because it's run by Rolling Stone magazine, the same entitiy which loves to make "The 500 Greatest Songs" best-of lists and other such trivial bullshit.

Considering Bono is a chain smoker, 25 years is a tall order. Larry must be dreaming. Lung cancer and other forms of sickness loom large for heavy smokers, not to mention detrimental effects to the voice (which are already easily noticed) and a bad example to the children.

Cheers,

J
