Brian Eno

Why did Brian Eno not produce POP? Was it because he was not happy with the direction the band was going and wanted to distance himself from it? Has anybody heard any stories or interviews on this?

I have also heard he will not producing the alleged "new" album. Is this true, or a rumor, and if so, why?

Thanks for any information. I know between all of the people here someone must know.

When you stop taking chances and stay where you sit you won't live any longer but it'll feel like it!

I think Eno-Lanois were just too involved in other projects to work with them (I'm not positive about this though). As far as Eno-Lanois doing a "new" album, I've heard that Lanois wants to move away from producing for a while and work on some of his own material. The band may want to wait for him, which may be why the rumored quick-release album has been delayed.
