Top of the morning 2 u

As we r here discussing a wonderful band, I thought it might be appropriate to converse about a wonderful artist, being Mr. David Bowie
What bowie song is ya favourite?

mine has 2 b ziggy stardust

ps
i did a similar post b 4, but that was some thyme ago..

later..

Mine are:

1. Life on Mars?
2. The man who sold the world
3. Ashes to ashes

And of course, "Under Pressure" (Queen feat Bowie). Actually I would love to hear U2 do that song with Bowie at a concert, just for fun, even if it would sound like hell.

Its been done, but the other way around. Not that particular song but Bono joined Bowie at the Richfield Coliseum, Ceveland 20-05-90 to sing Gloria.

This duet is available on the U2 bootleg The Unforgettable Duets

Love that Bowie! Here are some of my faves:

Queen Bitch
Hang On To Yourself
Suffragette City
Sweet Thing/Candidate/Sweet Thing
Station To Station
Look Back In Anger

I think you can hear a lot of Bowie influence on a lot of U2's albums, especially their 90's output.

"We are the biggest little cult band in the world." - Larry (1997)

As easy as it is for me to say Bad is U2's best, Heroes is Bowie's best.

------------------
"Pull the trigger on a rock n' roll ****** bigger than Jesus on a bumper sticker!" -Bono, Bullet the Blue Sky.

Yeah I know, but thanks for the adress, I?m gonna listen to it now ?cause Gloria is one of my favorite U2-songs (Gloria and Bad). But I just REALLY love "Under Pressure" and I would give away my left hand to hear that song live, hehe

There's only room for one and here she comes, here she comes...

It sounds like Bowie sings back up on Stateless. It's probably Eno though...

Some of my Bowie favorites...DJ, Sound & Vision, TVC15, Space Oddity, Wild Is The Wind, Fame-John Lennon co-wrote & sings on this one...Life on Mars as well...

Heroes is a classic....
and I really like "John, I'm only dancing".
it's something about that one. coolness!

My favorite Bowie tune would have to be "strangers when we meet". I can listen to that song at anytime of the day and I fall in love with it all over again.

------------------
" You love this town - even if that doesn't ring true. You've been all over, and it's been all over you " - Bono

" Don't you know there ain't no Devil, that's just God when he's drunk " - Tom Waits

I'll list my favorite from each decade.

1970's: "John, I'm Only Dancing"
1980's: "Modern Love"
1990's: "Dead Man Walking"
