That looks like it was taken right after he missed the second verse in Kite! I love that they left in Bono and Adam cracking up on the DVD even if they spliced in the missed verse!

I wasn't in Boston but let me take this opportunity to share some of my favorite moments from the DVD. While it fell short for me in a lot of ways, there are some special moments, in no particular order:

1. Bono's Mick Jagger moment during Desire--anybody know what I'm talking about?

2. The Fly!

3. Bono and the lovely fan's lips singing in sync during WOWY

4. Yes, the guitar-kicking fit

5. 40 into Shhhreeets

and probably my favorite thing:

Bullet monologue!!! A lot of people didn't like the Mark Chapman thing but I thought it was fantastic and often fast-forward right to it to show people who don't know this side of Bono.

Speaking of U2 in Boston on 6/6/01, are those bozos who staged the sit-down strike in the heart all gone?

It would have been nice if they could have waited a little longer for an explanation of the line-jumping before causing such a big stink.

The photos! The screenshots! The innocent eyes! The memories!

Every day this week has got me jumping for JOY, remembering every magical moment of that week in Boston! Tonight one year ago I was hugging Edge's side of the heart waiting for PJ to take the stage in just a few minutes.......and the next few hours were absolutely TRANSPORTING!

So many amazing memories! And Carrie, O_O at your Larry pictures, esp. the one with him tucking his cords behind his ears. *queasy*

What an amazinggggg weeeeeeek to rememberrrrrrrrrr!

Shhhhhhweeet!

I had known to expect Higher Ground then All You Need Is Love and then Elevation so i was jumping out of my skin with excitment and then all of a sudden on came Sargeant Pepper and I had no clue what was going on but *what* a song to add and it just added LIFE to the beginning of every following show!!

I just finished listening to the bootleg (a little early, I know!) and it was awesome to relive the night! Thank you for the transcript, Carrie, a few of Bono's comments really stuck and I heard them for the first time on the bootleg tonight!

Happy Boston 3 everyone!!!!!!

"I would now like to apologize for using several explee-tives in a row"

11:00 Tick Tock! Bono chit-chatting with everyone in the heart, trying on a cowboy hat and curiously examing the Bonomole! Angel and then Ground Beneath Her Feet, so beautiful! And the most GORGEOUS AIWIY I have ever heard in my life .....

Sing love, make your guitar sing
Make it sing like an angel in the devil's bed
Make it sing like the thing that shouldn't be said
Make it sing like a ? when the rain is turning red
Make it sing like a voice, make it sing like the dead
All the promises we break from the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you.

All I want is YOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOO!!!

What a show!!

Boston Threee!!!

Happy Boston Three!!!!

where I saw one of the best Fly's ever and met someone who will be my friend for life!

Here are a few of my notes:

Other "highlights": Sweetest Thing was outstanding live. I really loved it- definitely saw the "soft and cuddly" side of U2 during that one. Once again Bullet The Blue Sky was phenomenal. It was special to hear "Angel of Harlem" and "11 O'clock Tick Tock," and I loved "New Years Day".

I liked the fact that Bono spoke more candidly than when he was being taped. Before "Stuck in a Moment" he talked about missing his friend, and "sometimes the most important thing you can do for your friend is to tell them to fuck off. My friends do that for me- three of them are right here." He went on to explain that he liked being able to be explicit at times, and it is in his Irish nature.
(someone gratefully posted about this earlier verbatim!)

This is so true! He was really casual with the fans, interacting and joking with them a lot, rambling on and on (dream come true! ;-)). You could almost see the relief on his face that they had finished taping! He was quite playful at this show, and at the same time, pretty emotional at times.

When they started 11:00 I nearly burst my vocal chords for sure!

So many mixed emotions!
