I know it would never be classed as U2's greatest song in a million years, but if it weren't for Mysterious Ways, I probably wouldnt be a U2 fan now.

So for me, MW wins this hands down.

And actually I think it would certainly make their top ten greatest LIVE songs.,

I always put those two at the top and I can't be bothered to search through page after page after page AFTER PAGE just for my last list, so I'll just leave it at that since my list'd probably be completely different...!

It's tough to define a "best".

For example, I feel lyrically, "One" is U2's best.

For a ballad, that haunting sound of "With or Without You" always wins. Bono's passioate vocals also dominate here.

For a love song, I'd go with "All I Want...".

For a punk song, "I Will Follow" rules.

For a political song, I think it's a tie between "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "Love & Peace". "Please" is good, but it never got to me the way those two more rocking songs did. "Bullet" has it's moment, but I never really liked the JT version.

For a rocking song, "Vertigo" really kicks butt - good lyrics and a fun song. "Elevation" is a strong second.

For a rocking song with more involved lyrics, "Pride" dominates, followed strongly by "Desire".

For a great dance track, "Mysterious Ways" easily wins.

"Pride" is my favorite all time song, but there are so many categories of songs, that it's tough to pick just one and say it's "the best".

However, sadly, "Stay" would not be on that list for me - so I disagree with Bono.
