Best Opening Track?

hmm, I agree with this point. However the reason why I think Beautiful Day is such a great opener is because I think it is the perfect response to Wake Up Dead Man. Bridging these songs together creates a sense of transition, a progression toward something better. I do like other openers, however, I think the connection between these two songs is perhaps unique to any other bridge between CDs. I don't know if it was intended this way, but thats my take on it.

I agree. Also, the very first seconds of Beautiful Day set the mood for the whole album, imo.

The title track shoud've been the opener, it'd be just perfect in that role...

I think A Sort of Homecoming is a wonderful opener for the album. Maybe it's just because I'm so used to hearing it as an opener that it works so well for me. But I love the mood it sets.

Or maybe it's because I just love the song so damned much.
