Best of Europe...pics from Sula's Europe trip

As some of you remember, I recently returned from a 2 month backpacking trip in Europe. Well, I finally have some of my photos developed...so I thought, just for kicks, I'd put a few up from every country. If you wanna see more, let me know and I'll post a link. Enjoy.

I spent five weeks in the Alps and this is the view from outside the chalet where I lived:

Typical thing to see in Switzerland...

Boating on Lake Geneva:

Main Street in Venice aka the Grand Canal...

(cont.)

Vernazza, Italy. Relaxing little fishing village in the Cinque Terre.

If you don't know what this is, there's no help for ya. Taken during a supper picnic my first night in Paris:

The street of my hostel in Paris...always good for picking up groceries:

I stopped in London for just a few hours:

My favorite things in England...small local pubs with great food and even better ale:

lastly...

Glenfinnan, Scotland. The momument has to do with the Jacobite Rebellion (I believe Bonny Prince Charlie summoned the clans hereabouts) and the loch is Loch Shiel. Blurry photo because it was windy and rainy.

More of the Scottish countryside...also in Glenfinnan.

Strokkur...a big ol geysir in Iceland. AM and her husband were great tour guides during my stay, btw.

Sunset or sunrise in Iceland (I can't remember which):

Travelling is the best. I'd highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. Expand your horizons...see new things...experience new sights, smells, and sounds. You'll never regret it.

Sula-

Looks like a great trip! I was wondering and you don't have to answer if you don't want to but I would like to a trip like this, maybe just a month, and was wondering how much would it cost? An estimate would be okay.

Absolutely stunning photos, Sula! thank you for sharing them... they brought back a lot of memories for me. (except for the iceland ones, lol!)

again, thank you for adding some beauty to my otherwise rather dull morning.

Wow, great pictures. Looks like you had lots of fun. Hopefully that'll be me in the near future. You do a really good job with those pictures... have you taken photo classes? The shot of the Alps blows me away.

Beautiful pictures! What a view from your chalet in the alps. Backpacking a hostelling is a great way to travel...I did that around Ireland and had a great time. From the looks of it you had a wonderful trip!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments on the photos. I've never taken any photography classes, although I'd like to someday. I just try to do the best I can...y'know, point and click. And my parents were stellar enough to buy me a cool little Olympus 35mm with a zoom for a grad present.

U2ME3, I'd be more than happy to give you any advice or info on how to travel cheaply in Europe. I found I was able to get around for close to $20 to $30 a day. Drop me an email at sulawesigirl@yahoo.com if you'd like to chat about it.

I took a boatload of Alps pictures...mainly because they were so stunning I just kept pulling my camera out. lol. So here's a few more.

Standing on the chalet front poarch the first day I arrived:

This mountain is called Dents du Midi. (teeth of the midday)

The Rhone River valley which our chalet overlooked:
