WIth the upcoming Best of 1990-2000 compilation, I've decided to make my own compilations, as I'm always thinking about what should + shouldn't be on the CDs. I had to split 1980-1990 into 3 CDs, because there's just too much

MLK.......Get rid of the Superbowl version, and include it where it belongs..right before the Rattle And Hum version of With Or Without You(they performed them in that order so it shouldn't be that hard..)

i'm sorry but your best of , is not really best of , it's all u2 albums minus few songs

Theyre more like live albums. For me, a best of should be a record of studio recordings. Otherwise, you could just download a concert or watch a concert video.

Also, I think that one disc can get you enough of the 80's. Take the Best Of 1980-90, put on singles like "Gloria", "A Celebration", "A Day Without Me", "Two Hearts Beat As One" and "In God's Country" and you'd have all of the hits and such on one disc. The band did a perfect job with the song selection, but songs could have been a nice addition, especially THBAO (Top 20 hit in the U.K.) and In God's Country (nearly a Top 40 hit in the U.S.).

Although, I must say that I'll probably use my MP3 player to create a better Best Of tracklisting for the 1990-2000 period. Here's what mine will probably have:

The Fly (It's their best song after "Streets" and was a number one hit in the U.K. for cryin' out loud! It deserves to be on the tracklist)
Mysterious Ways
One
Even Better Than The Real Thing
Until The End of the World
Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses (Single Mix) (Not only was this a hit single, it helped bring the album back into the top 40 for a number of weeks)
Numb *
Lemon (was a number one hit in Oz and is the band's most remixed song)
Stay (Faraway, So Close)
Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
Miss Sarajevo
Discotheque *
Staring at the Sun*
If God Will Send His Angels (This song is the most ATYCLB-esque and I think a lot of newbies would have liked it)

* Original versions instead of the remixes, since those are the classics.


My tracklisting has just as many songs as the last album with no hits skipped either. I really think the band should have saved ATYCLB for the next compilation. Also, "Electrical Storm" and "The Hands That Built America" were written and recorded in 2002. Electrical Storm should have been saved for the next record, while Hands shouldn't have been released on a U2 record until the next compilation.
