Does anyone agree?
The WHITES STRIPES are, to me, the most vital band to emerge from no where in years. reminds me of the nirvana surge. while they've done plenty of covers, and definitely borrow from our blues and metal godfathers, they still manage to sound very original. Every artist is a cannibal. Everything gets done twice. Yet this band makes it up again, and in spots, does it even better than the original.
They remind me of early U2 -- raw emotion and energy, punk influenced (not musically --but in attitude).
Anyone draw similar comparisons?
