Answer. They are all going to Las Vegas. Both Vegas threads have great ideas and cool people so why not combine and have one definitive thread for ideas, ticket trades, meeting places etc.

We need to set-up a full Interference Communication System (ICS) including cell phones and two-way radios so that we can effectively "work" the GA line and maximize the possibility of meeting the boys.

Oh and BTW....

wooooohooooooo i can finally post...
i'm a loser newbie to the forums

...

My U2 Concert history:
9/6/83- War - Old Lady on Brady- Tulsa, OK (12 y.o. and had balcony rail stage adajacent seats; It was amazing; Bono punched my friend when he "accidentally fell onto the stage)
10/18/92- ZooTv Outisde- Arrowhead- KC, MO (2nd Row seats 1,2 adjancet to catwalk; amazing)
5/19/97- PopMart- Arrowhead- KC, MO
(7th row seats 6-12 deadcenter; again, amazing)
11/18/01- Elevation- Thaomas and Mack- LV, NV ( GA Yeah)

My question is:
I am a frequent Vegas traveler [by the way, for anyone under 40 y.o. the Hard Rock is the BEST place to stay... The HR has nNO blue hairs and NO kids, The worst thing is that everyone employees and patrons are so damn good looking... The waitresses have the best outfits in vegas... Luxor is 2nd, but little things like sucky casino floor music and ultra-tacky egyptian theme cause it to lose out... However, Ra (luxors dance club) has better music but not as hot of people than Baby's (HRs hidden dance club)... There is something very cool about standing in the HR listening to U2 (i.e. Elevation) blaring overhead while pounding free drinks and shooting dice... and let us not forget about CrazyHorseII, Deja VU, et.al.]

Ok back to the question:
I would love to meet some interferences to party with at HR and show, how should i go about it?

me = MGM Grand

they have Studio 54 there, so that may be kick arse.. i'll check it out (i have to be there all week for work)

last time I was at Caeser's (sp?) I went to Cleopatra's Barge and it was alright - save for the yunkin' druppies all over the dance floor..

let's hook it up! rock n roll DOGGIE!!

Additionally, the restaurants in the HR [AJs- very pricey, small restaurant, excellent steak; Mortonis- pricey, italian, small restaurant, hot waitresses, good food; Nobu- owned by DeNiro, pricey (like all good sushi), larger restaurant, small bar area, outstanding sushi; Mr. Lucky's- reasonably priced, damn good standard american fare(awesome eggs benedict), open 24 hrs; last but not least, Pink Taco- great drinks, decent mex, super hot waitresses/outfits, reasonable prices, go early (it gets packed)] are some of the best in town...
I've been to Vegas six times in the past 2 years ( the last four at HR, the one before that Luxor and before that the complete dump/slot monkey scum bag haven the Station) and it is tough (lotsa coin) to get rated at the HR but it can be done. The HR has been known to discount/comp rooms for even average players. So if you plan to gamble get a bakstage pass and always use it when gambling, plus you get freebies (a pin,mug etc.) if you use the coupon in the inroom magazines. However, don't expect the free buffet passes like lower end joints.
HR is a place to see and be seen, it is not the first choice for gamblers. The eye candy is tremendous.
I don't think you can beat the HR for location. You can walk to Thomas and Mack. It can be difficult to get a cab especially right after an event.

Vegas all the way.
Just made reservations for the hard rock today for Saturday and Sunday (17th, 18th) and it only cost me $65 a night for two people. That's way cheaper than i thought it would be.
The Hard Rock is gonna be the place to be.

murlio...please tell me how you got that deal! they said that no saturday arrivals were allowed. strange, id be getting there friday anyway but if i can get it there for 65 a night thats where i'll be...did you use priceline.com? maybe i should do it all that way.

I've never had the HR allow a Sat arrival with there online or phone reservations... However, some third party online companies (i.e. Travelocity.com, hoteldiscount.com etc.) can allow Sat arrival... The best going rate i've seen for non-rated customers at the HR is 179.95 for Sat. and 69.95 for Monday and can be booked at either of those two companies...

Well, my ass is driving all the way from Kalispell, MT. AKA: a long-ass way from Vegas.
I should be there around 3:00pm on Saturday. And my travel agent at AAA screwed up. She told me 65 bucks for both nights but Saturday is actually gonna be like 165(same as everyone else). But i'm still pumped. At least i got the damn reservation.

Anyway Like O2, i'll be at the hardrock. that is if we get through all the snow okay on the first day of the drive. have to go through all of Montana, Idaho, and Utah to get there, so i'm praying for good weather.
And if i get a fake id printed up, i might make it to the bars. if not, i'll be somewhere else as i'm only 20.

Ok guys I have a grand idea.

Closer to the concert date I will start a thread for the cell phone situation. I thought I would have everyone that wants to exchange phone numbers email me with their numbers, and then I'll make a list and email it back to everyone.

Eh?

The Hard Rock is gonna be the place to be.

There is NO WAY you got a rate that cheap unless you've got big time connections. I was told (1) no Saturday check-ins (2) the price I was quoted for Friday and Saturday night was more than THREE TIMES the $65. (3)this weekend is supposed to be sold out now. My husband and I stayed at the Hard Rock when they first opened and mid-week the rates were $99. This was in 95 or 96.

So what's up with this? You can't stay off the strip (like at Sams Town or Boulder Station) for under $110 a night on the weekend!!! Tell me tell me NOW!!!!!

i already answered that in this post. the agent at AAA gave me the wrong rate. She gave me the rate for Sunday night as the rate for both. Saturday will actually be 169 bucks. i think that's what everybody else is paying.
Sorry for the confusion
