"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

Lennon would probably have something nasty to say about Bono writing an answer to "God" and Paul would probably want to do "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" in answer to his song "Give Ireland Back to the Irish", which was a song he wrote with Wings.

No one has mentioned Zooropa yet? It's almost in the same vein as I Am The Walrus and A Day In The Life.
I'd imagine they would have loved that song.

Paul would do it. He shouted for a week to get ready for recording Oh! Darling.

maybe they could turn it into an actual song

this is VERY hypothetical...

but i dont think the beatles would ever do a cover of a u2 song, because 1) they couldnt do songs such as streets or until the end of the world and 2) the u2 songs that they could do, wits, staring at the sun, wild honey, oots etc. are in same category, but inferior to their own material

I'm going to be lame and probably say One.

I could totally see all 4 band members singing different verses and they all sing in the chorus.

But The Beatles would never reach the "crazy, washed up, but still immensely" talented stage of The Stones.

I could see either the Beatles or Stones doing a cover of "Big Girls Are Best".

The lyrics remind me of something they would do.

I can imagine John Lennon singing Please. I think he would do it well.
