Just emailed about 60 U2 songs to a friend I grew up with, (birthday gift).

I'd always thought he didn't care much for U2, but when I last visited him a few months back, he had some well-known U2 on his iPod, and showed interest in learning more about them.

He admits he used to be less interested, and he still sort of thinks a lot of their material sounds "the same." He later said that was probably due to Bono's distinctive voice.

So I picked the songs to show some variety, and to show him how good some "lesser known" songs are...

I Will Follow
Out of Control
The Electric Co.

Like A Song...
The Refugee
Two Hearts Beat as One
Drowning Man

Your friend will never listen to U2 again.

tsk.

I am close to liking it better than the original. Don't know why so many u2 fans are intent in ripping on this version.

I just wish they had extended the ending and added the extra lyrics Bono always does on the live version.

:madspit:

Make it easy and give your friend a copy of 'Achtung Baby' and tell him to listen to it all way through on headphones...

There's more to the story... i didn't want to bore you with, but i wanted to also fill in the better known songs he doesn't have on the iPod...
