from u2log
According to a web chat transcript on 46664.com, Dave Stewart hints at a possible Christmas single release of the song backed with “American Prayer” as a b-side. The latter song will feature American artists such as Beyonce and The Neptunes.

i think she means american prayer... i agree... but i'm sure it will be. the version we already heard had to be a very rough edit... if bono was smart he'd turn the producing of the track over to the neptunes... they make hits... nothing but hits.

Oh. I like it how it is already, I like it a lot. It was amazing live, both times. I hope they leave in the African group, they really make the song.

well, the Wheaton mp3 is hardly representative of what it really sounded like. Besides, those were kids singing. You gotta give a four year old a break.

Most of my posts lately have been about me harking on about The Neptunes AKA N.E.R.D being a supporting act for U2. However a Pharrel Williams/ Chad Hugo produced U2 album would be seismic!!!!!!!

That's interesting, Edge said about two years ago that he'd like to work with the Neptunes. Maybe this could lead to some work with U2.

pharrel simply makes hits... i would love for the neptunes to work with u2... would be quite nice indeed.

and i think i'm gonna agree with that suggestion of the neptunes opening... i'm still pulling hard to have an opening act that i actually would want to show up for... p.j. harvey was fine (and hot) but i really just wandered in and out between the arena and the beer stand i dunno
