Album Favorites and the Producers

I was just looking at the poll of favorite songs from the album and was looking at who produced what and was wondering why Steve Lillywhite got the official "Produced By" credit. Guess he produced more than the others but interesting that Chris Thomas did produce Sometimes (which to some is the best cut on here) and that Flood did City.

1. Miracle Drug - Steve Lillywhite
2. City of Blinding Lights - Flood
3. Sometimes You Can't Make it on Your Own - Chris Thomas
4. Original of the Species - SL
5. Vertigo - SL
6. Crumbs From Your Table - SL
7. Love & Peace - Eno and Lanois and a combination others.
8.All Because of You - SL
9. Yahweh - CT
10. A Man and a Woman - Jacknife Lee and others.
11. One Step Closer - Chris Thomas and Daniel Lanois plus others

I still don't understand the credit unless it was negotiated on the part of his agent which it might have very well been. I don't really see it being a Steve Lillywhite album.

I think it's credited to the others because the work started with them and Lillywhite completed it. For example, COBL, at least musically, originated during the Pop sessions with Flood.

Ian McCulloch the U2 fan:
"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."
