actually, i'm a bit surprised Larry would put this image out there considering he's been notoriously guarded and protective about his family... could open his kid up to a whole lot of ridicule from the nasties...

i think the photo is beautiful, but i just showed my teenage daughter and her eyes popped out of her head and she said "ugh weird" when i said it was father/son

With the date of 9/9/14 on the cover, I am assuming this cover is just for the Apple release, and we will see another cover for the retail version of the album.

THIS. Exactly what I've been thinking - this is a temporary image for the Apple release, and we'll see something else for the physical release.

Maybe soi will be disc 1 and soe will be disc 2 and there will be a whole new cover for the double album.

That's an intriguing idea!

Vinyl quality is impaired for running times of longer than 20 minutes or so per side. Given that the new album is around 50 minutes or so, it could fit on a single LP.

So a double LP (the planned release as of now) could be just SOI on two LPs, for extra quality. But....it is plausible that two albums of this length could fit a double album release.

I wouldn't mind Songs of Innocence plus Lucifer's Hands and Crystal Ballroom spread out over 2lps if it meant the mastering was done right and the album was 45rpm. Odds are the album will be on disc 1 and the bonus tracks will be on disc 2.

The back is the black page with the bar code on and im persuming that the writing on the bottom left hand cover is the tracks. Thats the way im looking at it anyway.

So whats the band and larry photo?Maybe the larry photo is the cover but the band picture will be the cover on a slipcase. So first thing anyone sees is the band??
