this is about the band Big Country but just read it.....its really odd.

In April 1982 the band cut their first demos and by the end of May, had concluded a record contract with Phonogram. By the end of the year the band had started working on their first album with producer, Chris Thomas (Pete Townshend Sex Pistols. Pretenders, Elton John etc) and cut their first single "Harvest Home". December of that year saw them opening for The Jam (at Paul Wellers request on the bands farewell dates ) at Wembley Arena for six nights.

Theories don't always work and the relationship with Chris Thomas came to an abrupt end. Enter Steve Lillywhite (U2, Simple Minds,Rolling Stones etc). This theory was spot on and a matter of weeks into 1983 saw the band have their first hit (peaking at no. 10) with Fields Of Fire.

I read this atu2.com...........

Maybe with U2, the theory just didn't work :(

thomas didn't do anything for them, and then lillywhite brought the magic.....

ok...cool.

so odd it doesnt make any damned sense, what the F am i supposed to be reading here?

Well its kind of interesting to see that in the past (with a different band over 20 years ago) Thomas has started a project and Lillywhite came in to start over or finish the deal........

Actually it fits very well. Although Big Country did have some singles released in early 83', their first album the Crossing, was not finished until later in the year in August/September. Interesting.
