okay, a friend of mine asked me this...

"you know that quote that is apparently from Bono "you've gotta sing like nobody's listening, dance like nobody's watching and love like its never gonna hurt" or something liek that....is that from a certain U2 song or did Bono just say it?"

well folks? is that from a song or is it just something he said? I've heard it before and i think it was in the context of u2 somewhere, but i tried looking through lyrics of songs i thought it might be in and i didn't see it. does anyone know?

As soon as I read the subject, I knew what this was gonna be about. :D

This has been discussed before...but I don't think we came to a conclusion. We do know that Bono is not the originator of this quote...many other people have had their name attached with it. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think we ever found a definite answer.

:hmm: Probably it was somebody who's been dead for centuries or somethin' :D

You're probably right! I think it's an old Irish quote...but I could be wrong. There's an Irish bar in Providence called Ri-Ra that uses it sometimes in their ads...my only evidence for it being Irish...
