Would be great to see you play Cardiff again...the joy is that the stadium has a retractable roof so it doesn't matter if it's an indoor or outdoor tour! easy 'eh!:)

Oh and Mofo back in set would be great...etc..etc...(goes off to get prematurely excited)

Perhaps I should have re-phrased that.

Plus I had a nightmare a while back that the Dockers has been removated into a champagne and oyster bar...please could you confirm that this ISN'T TRUE!!

Thanks for everything - for music that's been a companion through good and bad, a message that's been an inspiration, and concerts that blew me away. I have to admit, I tried to remain as objective and clinical about the new single as possible, but I can't help it. This song is too damned FUN to deny. Can't wait to hear it live!

ps. Now that Adam's rightfully regaining some musical spotlight time, I think it's time to bring Gloria back into the setlist. :D
 
Bono, I'm uncertain if you'll bother to even read down as far as this but I felt compelled to reply as I've a comment to make about Vertigo.

I've been a fan for over 22 years, a long long time and I must say that although the feedback on the new single appears to be unanimously favourable, I have to say that it just doesn't work for me. It's alright. nothing more. You stated that the new songs were what you'd striven for over 25 years to compose, that this is the record you always wanted to make. Yeah, of course it will turn multi platinum, of course it will be number 1 all over the world and one fan's opinion ain't gonna change that. I expected better. it's got your stamp on it alright. It's your sound. That's about it though. Nothing disappoints as much as hype. And the sorry part was I bought into that hype. Now that I've heard Vertigo, I'm not a convert. Actually, the more I listen to it the more convinced I am that this is the single you never should have made.

Its good and healthy to criticise the single but hey it hasnt been released yet so its not No1 yet anyway! I dont find your comments to be fair but ok thats your opinion.

I found the studio performance video on TOTP last night to be rather lame but not the song. The song is awesome! Absolutely AWESOME! And quite rightly, its being played all over the world on radio so that counts for its popularity of the band doesnt it? And also if it wasnt played enough times on radio by request then that would be a message saying "No thats no good" but from the amazing reaction to its song on the radio, thats enough to have a positive effect on the single!

And in case Bono, Edge, Larry and Adam are here, I just wanna thank for your amazing music thru the years since 1985 when I first heard you despite my hearing loss. I use my hearing aid in my right ear to be able to listen and man, youve touched me so many times with your inspirational music!

Keep it up lads and will see you in London and elsewhere in UK next year!

I wanted to say a big thank you. Thank you for the music and for the inspiration you have given me and most of all thank you for the way you are. Your music helped me through bad times it always gave me hope.

Vertigo is amazing and I can't wait to see on tour. :heart:

I think it refers to their first three albums and to their fourteenth....HTDAAB...Back to rock!!! But maybe the band can comment on that? hahaha. Edge, get a nickname and login!


But thank you to U2. This is really great. I love Vertigo!!! U2 is after 25 years still important, they still rock and are still innovative. I don't know any other band in the world being at the frontline of pop and rock for 25 years!!! It's amazing!:wave:

:wave: Love U2. Just looking at some of the responses here you could probably tour until Larry looks his age and still not satisfy everyone. Please add Cyprus to the list!

Been a big fan since '87 and have never been as excited about the release of a new album before - especially after hearing Vertigo properly (without the beach noises and Spanish voices on the internet snippets).

Keep up the great work. Hope the next tour is as soulful & heart on the sleeve as Elevation.
