We all know that the LiveAid Concert changed the lives of Bono and Bob Geldof and solidified their lifelong concern and activism for Africa's Future.

Amid all the stories over the years about the famine in Ethiopia and the LiveAid concert, one little Ethiopian girl's struggle to hold on to life was forgotten.

She re-emerged this week to meet and greet UK PM Tony Blair and Bob Geldof during a meeting on Africa's Future held in Ethiopia.

Here is her amazing story:

Amid all the excitement of the upcoming U2 CD and tour, I just thought it might be good to remember some of the really important events and people in U2's (especially Bono's) life.

It was the future of children just like Birhan's which prompted U2 to participate in LiveAid in 1985 and it is that same concern for Africa's children that keeps Bono motivated in his work with DATA and The ONE Campaign today!

Hope you liked this BEAUTIFUL story.

THIS IS THE TIME TO FINISH WHAT YOU'VE STARTED. THIS IS NO TIME TO DREAM....:bono:   ;)

BTW, can't wait to buy the Live Aid DVD in Nov. I wonder if they will include stuff like this on the DVD extras.
