proof:

-they crash landed in 1976 and started a band to cover up the truth. they have been fixing the space ship all these years and -voila- now it's time for "elevation" aka the ride home.

-why else do you think Bono has so many jobs: a singer, a father, and occasionally, a politician? additional cover.

-why else do you think Edge's guitar has such an original sound? work of human hands? i think not!

-why else does Larry look so good for his age? he has the secret of eternal youth-which a human obviously can never own.

-their physical appearance (human body) is just a shield. they need to hug each other or other people so the shield doesn't fall apart.

-why do you think they talk about "home" so much in their songs?

-where was the space ship all this time?
"zoo station".

-and what is the name of their home planet?
"popmart".
