i have heard several rumours about a DVD collection to celebrate U2 25 year anniversary? can anyone confirm these rumours? or does anyone know what the DVD's will be?

what i am thinking is an early show maybe 1983ish
1987 show
zoo tv
popmart
elevation

and a bonus dvd with loads of extra stuff from the last 25 years

would be pretty cool!

I would think it would have Zoo Sydney & Popmart Mexico in it...I would hope they know what's out there in terms of bootlegs...maybe JT Denver? We know this must exist from filming R&H, why not a dvd of the whole show? And complete Red Rocks would be nice...

have a L.A. recording from the collesium, from the rattle and hum filiming sessions, very good concert :)

It´s quite widespread rumor  I really hope they´ll go with unreleased performances    . I hope they won´t go with Zoo TV Sidney and Pop Mart Mexico, because fans already have those concerts, on VHS, but at least they have it. What about unreleased footage ? Only die hard collectors ( like me :D ) have some concerts on DVD, but most of them have horrible low quality both image and audio

I´ve been meeting collector fans around the world, and I can say there´re AT LEAST 50 concerts since 1981 filmed on Pro-Shot. So why not give a chance to that amazing hidden footage ?

Highliths? SO MANY CONCERTS !!!

Santiago 1998, Loreley 1983, Dortmund 1984, Dublin 1989, Rotterdam 1990, Belfast 1981 - First real U2 concert, Not TV performance, filmed, by BBC - , Hattem 1982, Dublin 1993, Stockholm 1992, San Francisco 1981, Rotterdam 1997, East Rutherford 1986, Los Angeles 1987, etc, etc, etc

I´m not sure about Elevation concerts. 2 DVD´s from the same tour is more than enough for me.

ALL WE ARE SAYING IS GIVE THIS A CHANCE ;)

I don't care what it is, since I haven't seen Sydney or Mexico City or Red Rocks. And even if they do include stuff that alot of people have on VHS, at least those people can get a better version that will probably have alot of extra stuff. Whatever it is, it's gonna be cool!

i dont care what price is on it, as long as they put more then 1 zoo tv show on there, or if not at least extra's like the songs they didnt play at sydney (desire, ultraviolet light etc)

infact they should put at least 4 zoo tv shows on there :D

one from normal zoo tv, one from outside broadcast, one from zooropa (had better be the wembly gig, the first one where they playd babyface and zooropa!) and a zoomerang show...... (they could always put the brisbane show on :D)

i personally believe that every zoo tv show was taped, and is sitting right now in the island U2 vaults.....

Yeah, why not put the Point Depot Lovetown show on there too?

any of the following would rock

Belfast 81
Red Rocks 83
Los Angeles 87
Point Depot 89
Washington 92
Giants Stadium 92
DUBLIN RDS! 93
Sydney 93
Mexico City 97
Sarajevo 97
Santiago 98

maybe even the Brooklyn Bridge show or a Vertigo show

Ditto. It would be cool to have that stuff and some lesser known things as well, perhaps some stuff that people in certain countries got to see that people in other parts of the world didn't and all that.

I would most certainly want this if it ever actually sees the light of day .

Yes I to have seen rumours on the net about a dvd collection coming out and I am looking forward to hearing what it will consist of.

Actually, while Babyface was played for the first time at the first Wembley gig on 1993-08-11, Zooropa was played for the first time in Glasgow on 1993-08-08, Edge's birthday.

And why waste space on four Zoo shows with extremely similar setlists and antics when you could put on four JT or Lovetown shows with varied setlists and spontaneity?

no no no no no! i mean the first wembly show...... not the first time they playd zooropa and baby face lol

thats just a really good show........ thats why it should be included, and we know it definetly exists because theres some clips from the fly on the best of dvd doco "missing sareavo"

There´re more shows filmed than we know  for example, Slane Castle show didn´t exist as Pro-Shot video among collectors until it was released, so it must be enough worthy unreleased stuff for at least 6 hours on 2 DVD´s ( something like Led Zeppelin DVD )

Weren't ALL of the ZooTV shows taped? I thought I read that's what the cameras were for(you know, the ones Bono kiss  ).

Andyuk: yes, there are rumors about a DVD box-set to celebrate 25th anniversary.

I would think Red Rocks, Sydney and Mexico would get DVD-ed.

I believe the whole JT third leg, ZooTV, Popmart, and Elevation have been taped by U2's crew, and I understand they have audio of every show stretching back ages, to October or so.

I have the opinion of a show that can represent each tour (or tour seccion), a show from:

October tour (Belfast, e.g.)
War tour (Red Rocks, e.g.)
Unforgettable Fire tour
Joshua Tree Tour (Los Angels, e.g.)
Lovetown tour (Point Depot, Osaka or Amsterdam, e.g.)
ZooTV '92 tour (Anaheim, Washington, e.g.)
ZooTV '93 / Zooropa / Zoomerang tour (Sydney could represent this one)
Popmart tour (Santiago or Mexico City, e.g.)
Elevation tour (re-edition of Boston and Slane Castle, e.g.)

I divided ZooTV in 2 sections because the 92 concept of the show is quite different from the 93 shows....

Angela and Rachel- I wish I could go get you guys and force you to have a U2 concerthon! You MUST see them!

Heres What They Should Do:
Red Rocks
Zoo TV from Sydney + Achtung Videos, or something Zoo
PopMart From Mexico + A Year In Pop, or something.
The Brooklyn Bridge Show + Making of Vertigo...More highlights from the Day of the show.

and to top it all off
U2 : 1979-2005
Interivews, Doco's, Clips here and there from '79 to Present....

I did say it SHOULD happen...but it wont.
