this changes faster than flood control would let me post, if i could even type that fast anyway. this only includes what i've been listening to for the last couple days.

dropkick murphys--the gauntlet
the clash--white man in hammersmith palais
bouncing souls--kids and heroes
joe strummer & the mescaleros--long shadow
the bruisers--til the end
street dogs--jakes
angelic upstarts--anti-nazi
stray cats--gene & eddie
mighty mighty bosstones--that bug bit me
slapshot--hang up your boots

and i really mean only stuff i've heard the past couple days.

neither, so I'll just pick one.

1) U2 - Stay
2) The Clash - Safe European Home
3) Blur - This Is A Low
4) Manic Street Preachers - Roses In The Hospital
5) Crowded House - Four Seasons In One Day
6) Ash - Nicole
7) Elastica - Stutter
8) Saint Etienne - Like A Motorway
9) Radiohead - Bulletproof
10) The Verve - On Your Own

other stuff that I have been listening to that doesn't actually qualify as a favourite band but I've been listening to a hell lot

Suede - Killing Of A Flashboy
The Jam - The Eton Rifles
Neil Young - Birds
The Cure - A Letter To Elise
etc.

1. Bush - Come Down
2. REM - Nightswimming
3. LiVE - Freaks
4. Blur - On Your Own
5. INXS - Beautiful Girl
6. Hunters & Collectors - Throw Your Arms Around Me
7. Rolling Stones - Paint It Black
8. Crowded House - Mean To Me
9. Metallica - One
10. Talking Heads - Slippery People

These all change.
U2 is my favourite but out of habit - Running To Stand Still is my personal song of choice, but like any band with a huge back catalog it gets pretty hard to determine an absolute favourite after a while.

I've got On Your Own stuck in my head.

The Blur one, not the Verve one.

I have to say that I like all of your lists

I have a hard time ever trying to rank what bands I like in what order and what songs are my favorite. I feel like I'm hurting other bands I like by not including them. I do enjoy seeing what other people have to say though, you've all made lots of choices I would have probably made too.

I agree with the fact that preference shouldn't be categorized, so I'll go with listened most often...

The Who- Won't Get Fooled Again
Led Zeppelin- Over The Hills And Far Away/ The Ocean
U2- Streets
Radiohead- Just
The Music- Getaway
INXS- Beautiful Girl (speaking of bulimia)
Black Sabbath- N.I.B.
Red Hot Chili Peppers- Under The Bridge
TOOL- Schism
Stone Temple Pilots- Dead And Bloated (for fun)

After that, it's off and on favorites...
