Some people would sooner forget music from the 70's...not me!

My favourite artists from this era:

Pink Floyd
The Doors
Don McLean
Queen
The Eagles
Creedence Clearwater Revival
Chris de Burgh

And you?

I believe every decade had great music. The media is stupid. They used to harp about how bad the 70s are and I think... what?!!?!

Jeff Beck, 70s Costello, the Clash, Fleetwood Mac, Blondie

This is difficult, because so many of the 70s bands I like bleed over into the 80s

Elton John
John Lennon
Bruce Springsteen
Zeppelin
Clash
Ramones
Pistols
Fleetwood Mac
Queen
Elvis Costello
Pink Floyd
The Eagles
Bob Dylan (Desire
 Blood on the Tracks:drool:  )
Black Sabbath
Warren Zevon

Why be torn between when you can listen to Bruce (along with Elvis Costello and Dave Grohl) cover "London Calling" and touch all the bases?

because in my head, i still see dave grohl's choreographed movements to the microphone, and hear steve van zandt's solo that shouldn't be there.

i was trying to pick one 'favorite'. for once i thought i could, but i was wrong. too much music out there. i have to make really narrow categories...like punk rock bands from boston who released their debut album on september 23rd, 2003. or something like that. there can't be too many of them. i can only think of one (and that 23rd date may be a little off, it was last year, i don't remember too well).

i'm listening to springsteen now. 'stolen car'

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Elton John
Queen
David Bowie
Bruce Springsteen
Elvis Costello
Clash
CCR
Supertramp
Heart
Led Zeppelin
Rolling Stones
Pink Floyd
The Who

That's just to start :D

i don't regularly listen to stuff from the seventies except for blondie, the ramones, a little ccr, and, of course abba. i enjoy a little early michael jackson from time to time, too.

song from the seventies that i was forced to hear so much i actually grew tolerance for it: 'rasputin' by boney m. :|

I saw Hush Split Enz BB King Daddy Coo THE ANGELS, Bowie in the 70's not that manyl

ahhhh the 70's :):) :):)
my high school years :happymemories:

I was a big Bowie fan, my bedroom was covered in Bowie posters .
My sisters boyfriend gave us a huge box of new release records, my best friend's older brother regularly bought records and my high school sweetheart in '77-78' had a twin brother and they both left school to work and joined a mail order record club:up: I had access to heaps of contemporary music...so much of it so good
I am remembering who most often made it onto to my record player.
I'd say
Neil Young
Bob Dylan
Pink Floyd
Led Zeppelin.
Moody Blues
Jackson Browne
Bob Marley
Rory Gallagher
Jeff Beck
JOHNNY WINTER!
stop me now, please

the girls?
Carole King
Linda Rondstat

I had a record by an African drummer
Olitunji -Drums of Passion, that I played to death

it's very hard to choose favourites
the 70's
and now I am remembering going out dancing with my friends in '78 to dance to covers bands...so many great songs
new wave and punk, pogoing around and reggae, a real mixture....
:silent: some stop me
the 80's are a bit of a blur for me, but I do very fondly recall the 70's.

 Foreigner reminds me of my childhood, they were one of my older brother's favorite bands.

I need to add The Steve Miller Band to the list
