So I'm trying to make babka. It calls for dry activated yeast. I can't get the yeast to activate to save my life. Someone please explain to me exactly what I need to do so I can get this darn thing to work! I already did what the recipe said and what it said on the yeast packet but I just can't get it to work. Thanks!

![]() I'm not an expert but make sure the yeast has not expired and that everything is at the correct temperature. More good advice here: http://allrecipes.com/advice/coll/all/articles/36P1.asp Good luck ![]() |

Yeah, your yeast is probably dead. Sometimes it doesn't even last till the expiration date.
Put a little yeast in a bowl with 1/2 cup warm water and a little sugar. If it doesn't bubble in 10- 15 minutes, it's dead. |

A babka?
I don't know what it is, but it sounds exotic. I want a bite... |
