This Gerard Butler looks like he would be a mean Bond, in the style of Timothy Dalton. And i quite liked that kind of Bond.

Though Roger Moores silly ass Bond type was the most fun, hehehe... And i am not even kidding

Bud Spencer anyone ??,, LOL

Ladies and gentleman I present to you Mr Mick Jagger.

Ah go on.
No really.
Apparently he was in some band and I'll admit he's getting a bit old but I don't see why this should stand in his way.
Plus he's actually British.

In all seriousness, did you know Mr Jagger is an exceptional actor? I don't suppose anyone outside Australia has seen one of the 26 versions of Ned Kelly ever made, but he was one of the Neds in an absolutely outstanding performance.

Funny, Ive only just noticed this thread.

One of my colleagues only ten minutes ago interviewed Colin Salmon (a regular on the james bond cast list) We asked him directly if he thinks he will be playing james bond. and he said yes.

The interview is being broadcast tomorrow (SAT 08/05) at 0805 GMT and possibly repeated on Monday morning sometime between 0430 & 0630 GMT

If you're that bothered you can goto to www.bbc.co.uk/threecounties and listen live to a stream at those times.

I've not seen it but I remember when I went round Old Melbourne Goal seeing the film poster and could imagine him being quite convincing.

Orlando Bloom to play the new James Bond.

However, the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' heartthrob will not be replacing Pierce Brosnan as 007 - instead he will star in a movie about the suave spy's younger days.

A source at Hollywood studios Miramax, who are making the film, revealed: "The story that Orlando will play Bond is true but we are doing a rather novel film about the young James Bond.

"The author, Ian Fleming, never really got into this period of his character 's life, but he did mention in 'You Only Live Twice' that Bond attended Fettes College, having been expelled from Eton.

Charlie Higson, who is writing the screenplay, has woven a wonderful tale around this." Miramax believe Orlando - who was recently tipped to take over from Pierce Brosnan in the regular Bond films - will be perfect for the role.

The source told Britain's Sunday Telegraph newspaper: "Orlando's got the sort of face that makes him look believable for that whole period in Bond's life."

The movie is also set to show Bond's notorious womanising started at a young age.

The insider added: "There will be a lot of that sort of thing".

Heaven help us. :sad::scream::madspit::tsk:

The Orlando Bloom thing is a spin-off type Bond movie, not an official Bond movie U2dem.....just like Never Say Never Again or to a lesser degree, far lesser degree, Casino Royale.

Sean Bean!! If you don't know who he is - do a Google search. He's blond and sexy, perfect for 007.

U2democrat, he could come back as a ghost or from the dead! They do that all the time in movies, don't they?

I don't know about Ewan MacGregor plaing Bond, I personally can't see it somehow, but that Gerard guy has got a bit of the young Connery look to him. Haven't seen any of Butler's movies though, as far as I'm aware.

They'll go for someone less well known as they've always done to make the role more 'believable'....if that's possible with James Bond movies being a bit over-the-top to say the least....reason in a way we love them i guess.

I don't know who the next Bond should be but I would like to see Sean Connery playing a Bond villain,

It would be so crazy.

As far as I can tell, the Timothy Dalton Bond is the closest to Ian Flemming's Bond as there has been.
