If this thread must be moved, then let it be moved. Dunno if this is the right place to put it. I have seen a thread like this before a while ago and wanted to start a new one. Who else have you all seen besides U2 and their opening acts?
For me.... Spoken Word and rallies included....

Third Eye Blind, Aerosmith, KISS, Goo Goo Dolls, Bob Dylan, Saliva, 3 Doors Down, Puddle of Mudd, Nickelback, Thornley, Fuel, Tantric, Bill Cosby, Lewis Black, Henry Rollins, George W. Bush, John Kerry, John Edwards, Mark Wills, Stephen King, Colin Mochrie, Brad Sherwood, Tim Reynolds, Weird Al Yankovic, The Pope, Vanessa Carlton, Even All Out, Automatic

i've seen a lot of bands, some of them multiple times. i'm not going to try to list them all, it would be insane. i'm not bragging, it just would be. i like music.

Butterfly Boucher is amazing. I have a feeling where you saw here was a bit out of context. I saw her open for Sarah McLachlan and was mildy impressed. Needless to say I bought the album and was blown away.

Best Album I Bought Last Year (Including HTDAAB)

I lived in Nashville for a while and saw her do some club shows. She is unbelieveably talented.

Give her a second listen.

she was extremely out of context, and it really showed in her complete lack of stage presence.

her music also hurt my ears.

Nickelback

I probably missing some and some of those above were opening bands that were o.k. to me.

I'm not much of a concert goer, but I've seen a few good ones. (Haven't seen U2, mostly likely won't go this time around either.)

10,000 Maniacs
Sting (Dream of the Blue Turtles tour -- freebie)
Paul Young (free)
REM (did a weekend jaunt to catch three shows, I think)
Pylon
Toad the Wet Sprocket (a couple of times)
Warren Zevon
Phil Collins (a friend had an extra ticket and no one to go with... )
World Party
The Waterboys (good show...loved Mike Scott)
Gin Blossoms
Sea Ray (opened for The Church and I really liked them...planned to see them more, but they have just disbanded :( )

and of course, of course, of course!!!!

The Church -- saw them five times in five days (drove through a blizzard to get to the last show) in March of 2004, so far it's been the only times I've ever seen them.

Wow, there are some concert goers here. I've seen a bunch of local bands and acoustic fingerstyle players that come through Utah but bigger bands that people would know include:

1964 (Beatles cover band but hey, I was 14 and I count it as my first rock concert)

Aerosmith (I was 15 and they rocked)

Toad the Wet Sprocket

Shawn Mullins (free intimate acoustic show--a friend won tickets on the radio)

U2 (twice on Elevation)

Zwan

Radiohead

Howard Jones (best free ticket ever)

Adriana Calcanhotto (Brazilian singer I saw while in Portugal last summer)

The Cure (2nd best free ticket ever)

And I'm hoping to be able to add U2 in NY, Denver and maybe Boston by tomorrow morning.

Bands I should have seen in high school but because of work / money issues:

Oingo Boingo Farewell Tour (still kicking myself for this one); REM; Smashing Pumpkins; Pearl Jam; The Cure. These are shows I either had tickets to and sold or was going to buy from a friend and didn't.

When my kids are in high school I'm going to help them see the bands they want to see. Heck, I'll take them to most of the shows if they don't mind uncool-dad hanging around.

you're tempting me to actually type up everything.

see, i'm what you might call border-line obsesseive about stuff like this, and i can tell you exactly every show i've been to, including the names of all the shitty local bands, maybe leaving out only one or two.

:crack: don't make me do it!!

I wish I could have seen Toad the Wet Sprocket

My cousin saw their last show of the P.S. tour in 2003, said it was amazing. Guess I could hold out for a Glenn Phillips solo show, though.
