well you probably guessed this..I don't eat takeaways. I believe in supporting local small business. I rarely eat in town, but if I do I have a hunza roll from the local health food shop. He has a sign up about appreciating slow food and choosing your own music if you like and he always has the current newspapers. The owner is a friend who works hard. His staff are so nice, it feels like visiting with family. He has a small cyber cafe too. I go online there occassionally and he brings me a soy-dandelion "coffee" with a little choccy or mint on the side and a big smile. I LOVE it!!
__________________One thing.....my hub often comments how quickly I can get a fine meal together for the family. I specialise in fast healthy food. I'm almost in tears as I say this musiclovers..I've waited so long. This week we started to use the new kitchen 'alcove' that we built. I have to wait till we save again for the gas plumber to move the stove and fridge, but the sink is functioning , I have a nice new bench and cupboard...AND the biggie. I have a rainwater tap in the kitchen ( homemade contraption, nothing glamorous) I have been carrying a water bottle for 22years, so it's a luxury to have a tap inside. My husband is a wonderful musician and electronics technician, not a builder. He has just taught himself carpentry as he has gone along. It gets a bit rough at times and he get hurt if I am disappointed with something he builds, but he is so methodical and persistent...we eventually get there. I wish every family in the world had a rainwater tap and an "inside". I know how hard some women have to work, just to find water. I'm so pleased......slainte musiclovers. |

I went to Taco Bell for the first time like two months ago... it was quite sad that I had missed out on amazing food for many years. I like Wendy's and checkers because of the banana milkshake and spicy french fries

there's a lot of inexepensive locally owned places to get take out where i live. there's this really awesome place where they have about 15 different kinds of burritos or tacos and a few salads. adn they're really tasty. i mean like fresh-cilantro-in-your- portabella-mushroom-burrito kind of tasty. there's a place that has soup in these giant bread bowl things. there's this pizza place that has virtually any kind of pizza.

I eat pretty much all of it except Church's Chicken and Captain D's Seafood.
__________________I eat McDonald's because I have a picture U2 riding through a McDonald's drive-thru getting Big Macs and Cokes; it is in some picture book, like FAR AWAY, SO CLOSE or some similar title. When I am on the West Coast, I usually give in to a Jack In The Box craving; they have a very good breakfast sandwich. However, the next time I am in the L.A. area, I have to try thei "Tommy's Burgers" place. I had heard of it before, and seeing some of you mention it, I looked it up. That chili cheeseburger looks incredible. We do not have White Castle here, but we do have their Southern, un-related counterpart, Krystal, very similar to "sliders." ~U2Alabama |
