I can see some parallels in the musically development during their albums. Look:

Boy until UF = Pablo Honey (good albums with a "usual" sound, that means, very few electronic)
JT = The Bends (brilliant albums with...ahem..."usual" sound)
AB = OK Computer (brilliant and more electronic)
Zooropa = Kid A (totally electronic and weird)
Pop = Amnesiac (very strange and different, electronic again)

What do you think?

I think you could be onto something there (but I'd draw more of a Joshua Tree/OK Computer parallel - talking of themes rather than musical styles).

I do think Radiohead are the defacto U2, and it's not just about the electronica thing - it's the very fact that both bands are so creatively restless. And that both bands went from ok/fairly good to outstanding/mindblowing in just a few years.

The remarkable thing about U2 is that they started making great music when they were 19 or so. Radiohead went the "college art student decides to make prog rock music" route. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
