What bands did you "discover" in 2001?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.

Well these specific bands are from Minneapolis (Comedy Central fans can see Manplanet on upcoming "Let's Bowl" shows and on an East Coast tour in Feb. and March). but with the Internet (MP3's) you can find them wherever you are!

In general, my point is to support your local artists/bands!

I do support them, that is, Malaysian acts. However, they're not of international standards - yet. A lot of the good stuff is underground and incredibly hard to hook onto.

Since 95% of new music sucks rocks, my discoveries of the year were all from the past. The Who (thanks to U2's cover of "Won't Get Fooled Again" at the Irving Plaza show), Elton John, Bruce Springsteen and Led Zeppelin.

"You gotta love living, baby, 'cause dyin's a pain in the ass."-- Frank Sinatra

Adam: Look guys, I got a Springfield spoon for my spoon collection.
Edge: Oh boy, here we go...
Bono: Wow, how many is that now Adam?
Adam: Nine. If I didn't have my spoons, I'd go insane.
Bono: Can I see it?
*adam gives bono the spoon, bono throws it away*
Adam: My spoon!

The number one band that I dixscovered in 2001 was definatly Gorillaz. I also discovered Johhny Cash, Deltron 3030, Kid Koala, Cibo Matto, and The (International) Noise Conspiracy.
