This is big enough news that I thought it deserved it's own thread...articles in the New York Times as well as reports on LA radio stations and E! are indicating that sources inside negotiations have said that the the writers and studios are "99%" there, that the major issue of compenstation for new media projects has been settled on by both sides, and that there are only a few minor issues left to iron out. This thing could be over any time this week.

I'm hoping this is true mostly because I have a lot of friends impacted negatively by this, and I'd like to see them get back to work/avoid layoffs if this continues.

I'd like some Colbert, Stewart, Conan, etc. with writers. And new episodes of shows I like to watch. But yeah, there are a lot of people impacted by this strike, so hopefully this ends asap

WHO DO YOU WORK FOR?

The Writer's Guild.

Shit, you're fucked, man. You guys haven't been working for months. That sucks. Really, it --- wait a minute ... nice try, WHO DO YOU WORK FOR?

I know it's a lost cause for this year, but 24 and the rest of the season for Heroes, Lost, The Office, etc. would be wonderful.

:applaud: I was watching Late Night with Craig Ferguson and his guest Alicia Coppola came on and announced she'd just heard the writer's strike had ended, that an agreement had been reached. Great news, I am so glad.

Depending on what networks decide a lot of shows could get around 5 episodes made, more if they extend the season a bit.

I actually want the strike to continue, so my underappreciated shows will air on NBC in an act of the network's desperation. Booo!
