Hey, phanan, Khan did a Superthread statsbomb of epic proportions. You're our 15th highest poster with 2,250 posts.

I'm first with 19,797 (plus notAxver's 10). Ian's second with 9,461. This hasn't been updated to reflect Rooty Hill Holiday Inn, though.

Yeah, I saw that. I think it's scary that I'm that high.

You blew everyone out of the water.

Ax, was the test administered?

Not only was the test administered, but JanuaryStar's equal with me on 72%!

Incidentally, have YOU done the test? Because I've found the master list and don't have you on it. Do you recall your score or am I going to have to make you retake it?

Yeah, I'm kind of stunned by that. I love how you talk about 2,250 as "that high" when I'm probably going to have made 2,250 posts between now and this time next week.

Oh, I did, quite a while ago now. And I easily remember my score. It was the same number as a certain U2 song.

MJ? Michael Jordan, is that you?

Or ... Michael Jackson?!

I knew you were going to say something like that  No, I'm a girl, thank you very much! And it's an abbreviation of my Dutch name, because I don't want to be bothering you with that. Having to picture all of your faces doing their best to pronounce my name is sheer torture

Yep. I don't even know how that compares to others, although I know Varitek was definitely lower.

Here's the list as I have it at the moment. Jen retook it today and became the first person to break below 20%. I pointed out Screwtape's viewing of arthouse films and that Sigur Ros music video as qualifying for question #20, the porn movie one, and he conceded 98.5% at least, so I've taken the initiative of removing the bullshit 99%.

 But Dutch names are cool! I actually have a faint idea (though just a faint one) of some Dutch pronunciation since my uncle lived there for a good few years - he saw U2 in Nijmegen on ZooTV.

Incidentally, I'm well-known for my love of Russian names, to the point that I was nicknamed Vladimir in grade eight. And then added Vladimir to my middle names because I could.

*namedeleted*

Ooh, I got in before the edit. That's an awesome name, truly.

I've always been thankful my parents gave me a French name rather than a bland English one. Though my English grandfather was so appalled that they chose a FRENCH name that he called me Andrew until I was about 2-3!

They are? I like foreign names way more than Dutch names! They're usually so simple. Anyway, cool that you're uncle lived here for a few years. What city did he stay in?

Ah, thank you. :) Mar-jho-lyn? I guess it's something like that. It's not as hard to pronounce as my ex boyfriend's name though.

Please don't quote me

The first part is okay, but the last part is more like the German 'lein', as in 'stein', so in English it sounds more like 'line' I guess.

Thank you! Lol he really called you Andrew because of that?

I like the name André though :)

Oh, I prefer complex names. Always have. I find English names dreadfully dull most of the time. No offence to any Johns here, but I feel especially sorry for anybody who has that most standard of standard names inflicted on them.

My uncle lived in Arnhem mostly. He learnt to bake there and now runs an amazing gourmet bakery in New Zealand.

Ooh, I got that right. Awesome.

Clearly, five years of German in high school paid off. (Incidentally, in the last thread, you mentioned the similarities between the two languages, and even from my shoddy German knowledge, I've found that I can read some basic Dutch.)

I like more complex names too. Always makes me wonder what the meanings or originalities of them are. I've never been to Arnhem, only drove past it. Hmm, gourmet bakery... Now I'm hungry

Yes, although I hate to admit it, German and Dutch show to have more similarities than differences. Being able to reading some basic Dutch is good :applaud:
