Brown Eyed Girl, Moondance, Wild Night, of course. He has some brilliant lyrics.

But what about 'Tupelo Honey'? AAH, I LOVE that one. Dance w/ a special guy (or girl) to that one, and there's nothing like it.

Love his music. It puts me at peace sometimes, especially Tupelo Honey.

I really like his old stuff too but I recently bought a newer cd "Back on Top" and it is very good. I recommend it highly.

My friend is related to Van Morrison and she really hates the guy, he was at her grandas funeral about 2 weeks ago and she hates him, i dunno why though, she said he was rude and arrogant. My fave song by him is Brown Eyed Girl-i dunno y

I used to sing it to all of my friends with brown eyes...eventually, they got pissed off and got sick of the song though...*lol*

Tupelo honey.......ahhhhhh.
I have such a funny memory of the first time I heard Van Morrison(I thought he was singing in French) and his music has featured in beautiful parts of my life ever since. Love him and his music.
Enjoy it all musiclover
Hub's band plays "brown-eyed Girl"(everyone's band plays brown-eyed girl these days...kinda took over where Mustang Sally left off, lmao) That song never fails to fill the dance floor. Morrison magic.
So why is he rehearsing XTC and The Cure songs for his new band? No one will wanna dance to that imho.
back to topic...Van is the Man!!

Mein Gott! I spoke too soon. I came along to rehearsal today to take photos( and use their pueter ) and they are doing up the bio... they have a name. I don't like it!!! "Must Hang Sally" .... unfortunately I am not j/k

I'm kind of embarrassed to admit that the first Van album I bought was "Inarticulate Speech of the Heart" because I had an awesome U2 boot called "Articulate Speech of the Heart" (or is it the other way round?). It turned out to be very good. Mellow, but very good.

I love Irish Heartbeat (with the Chieftains),
the whole album.
Then one of my most favourite Irish songs is
Black Is the Colour Of My True Love's Hair...
no,wait,I'm not sure Van Morrison ever sang this one,I guess it was Christy Moore.

Van Morrison is at his best when he gets real real gone. My favourite right now is Madame George from 'Astral Weeks'. Another top track is 'Contemplation Rose':

Puerto Rican nursery rhymes
Angels in the snow and thyme
And I'm keeping my mind on that rose
In a church in Spanish Harlem

Got Watchtowers and Awakes for free
In the laundromat for you and me
but you can't take me down that way
As I'm not sinking

And if we go down one time you know
next time's not gonna be the last time
And I'm contemplating that rose
in a church
in Spanish Harlem...

------------------
"Once again
I'm in trouble with my old friend
She is papering the windowpanes
She is putting on a smile
Living in a glasshouse..."

It isn't so well known, but his PHILOSOPHER'S STONE 2CD collection is a personal favorite of mine. I like just about everything he has done though.

Yeah, the Philosopher's Stone has some very good material. I've got to admit I'm not really a big fan of anything Van Morrison has done since about 1980, but each album seems to display at least one gem, eg:

The Healing Game - The Healing Game
Days Like This - Ancient Highway
Too Long in Exile - Gloria (redone)
